The theme of the lesson: “Choosing schools”
The aim of the lesson:
Educational: to train pupils in discussing the schools in GB, The USA and Kazakhstan
and to compare them; to practice listening for specific information; to teach
pupils to work creatively and to express their opinions about the schools; to
revise conditional sentences;
Developing: to develop students’ skills in speaking, writing and reading; to develop pupils’
memory and attention;
Bringing up: to bringing up interest in learning English, and teach to respect the culture of the
countries; to teach pupils to be ready to choose their future professions, to learn
the educational system in Great Britain and in our country Kazakhstan; to love
own school.
Visual aids: English textbook by Ayapova 9-form, a tape-recorder, marking cards, interactive
board, cards, stickers, pictures, slides.

-Good morning, dear students, teachers and guests! Welcome to our unusual presentation lesson.I’m glad to see you and I hope, that you’ll enjoy today’s lesson.
-Students, how are you? Let’s divide into two groups (teacher give out green and red papers to students, then students divide into two groups). Students with green papers called “Education” and students with red papers called “Knowledge”.
-Language is the main means of communication. There are nearly 3000 languages in the world. English and Russian are languages of international communication. Kazakh is the state language of our country. With the help of the knowledge of foreign languages we can communicate with each other via Internet or get necessary information from it. And with the help of Russian and Kazakh we can develop our skills in oral speech and reading and grow as patriots of our Motherland.

Great Britain:
In Great Britain children start going to school when they are five and continue studying until they are 16 or older. Compulsory education begins at the age of five when they go to primary school. Primary education lasts for six years. First they attend the infant school from five to seven.
In infant schools children don’t have real classes. They get acquainted with the class- room, desks, play and through plating. They learn numbers and how to add them. When children are seven they go to junior school which they attend until eleven. Boys and girls study at junior school for four years. There they have classes, read and write, do mathematics.
At secondary school pupils study English, Maths, Science, Geography, History, Art, Music, Foreign languages and PT. there are some types of secondary schools in Great Britain. They are grammar school, modern schools and comprehensive schools. One can attend modern school but of a modern school don’t learn foreign languages.

We started school at the age of seven. After four years of primary school we went to secondary school. Primary and secondary schools together comprise eleven years of classes are compulsory in our republic.
Our school year began on the first of September and ended in May. It lasted 9 months. On the 1st of September we got acquainted with our teachers and had our first lessons. Every lesson lasted 45 minutes. Every day we had 5 or 6 lessons.
Today the educational system in Kazakhstan is presented by two languages: Kazakh and Russian. Primary education is the most developed of the state’s educational system. Pupils receive their primary education in schools of three different levels. Primary 1-4 grades, middle 5-9 grades and junior 10-11 grades. After finishing the 9th grade children continue education in high schools in technical- professional institutes, or in special schools.

The American system of education differs from the systems of other countries. Education is compulsory for every child from the age of 6 up to the age of 16 except in some states, where children must go to school until the age of 17 or 18. In the junior high school schoolchildren learn English, Maths, History, Biology, Physical Education, Social Studies. Most of them learn Spanish as a second language.
The high school prepares young people to work immediately after graduation or advanced study in a college or university. At the end of their time at school, most students get a high school diploma.
