The theme of  the lesson: Loch Ness Monster

The aims of the lesson:
a) practical aim: to develop pupils’ skills  in  reading ,writing and speaking.
b) educational  aim: to develop pupils’ attention and imagination;
c) cultural aim:to enlarge pupils score of  knowledge  according to the theme.
Visual aids: Pictures, slides, materials from Internet, materials from newspaper:
                “Лохнесс құбыжығы”,”Көлді   мекендейтін құбыжық”. 
The procedure of the lesson.
I.Organization  moment
-Who is on duty today?
-What is the date today?
-Who is absent today?
- Thank you, sit down, please. Let’s begin our lesson. 
II.Warm up.
-What season is it now?- It’s winter.
-What month is it now?-It’s February.
-What is the weather like  today?-It’s cold and frosty.
-Do you like winter?-Yes, I do.
-Why do you like winter?-I like winter,because we play snowball, make snowman. The air is fresh.Everything is white .There  is much snow on the ground.
-How many seasons  there in a year?-There are 4 seasons in a year.
-What are they?-They are : winter, spring, summer, autumn.
III.Checking up the hometask:
-What was your hometask?-Our hometask was Loch Ness Monster.
IV.Reading Practice
Today we’ll read and speak about it.First we’ll read the text.I will give you the texts. And your task is to read the text attentively. Don’t hurry, please. But you must read only the first part. (students reading the text.)
Teacher: Are you ready? Yes, OK.
-What are you reading about?Where is it? Look at the map and describe this lake. What do you feeling describing the lake’s? Is it cold and dark there? Is it mysterious? Horrible? Are you afraid?
Teacher: read the second part of the text. What was this thing like? Describe it. What stories do you know about it?
V.Additional reading :”Was it Nessie?”
My name is Alan Cockerell .I’m  a waiter. I work at a hotel near Loch Ness. I live in a cottage near the hotel.I finish work in the hotel at one o’clock in the morning.Then I walk home with two friends. They work at the hotel, too.
One night in 1988 I worked late. I finished work at two o’clock.I walked home alone,because my friends were already at home.It was a clear night and there was a full moon. 
While I was on my way to my cottage ,something  happened. Something appeared in the lake.It was large and black.I stopped and looked at it. The thing moved along the lake.I watched it for about a minute.Then I hurried to my cottage and grabbed my camera.
But  when I returned to the lake,there was nothing there.
I’m sure it was the Loch Ness monster .It was Nessie. I know it was.
VI. Consolidation of the text:
Answering  the questions:
1.Who is Nessie?
2.What is Alan Cockerel’s  job?
3.Why was he alone that night?
4.What was the thing like?
5.Why hasn’t Alan got a photograph of the thing?
6.Is this the Loch Ness monster?
7.Do you believe Alan Cockerell’s story?
VII.Summary of the lessons:
And what do you know about the Loch Ness monster on the whole. And now we’ll make clustering (students give their ideas, the teacher make clustering on the broad). 
VIII. Please imagine: if you will be invited to visit this place, would you like to do it? Why? Your next task is to write a mini –composition. Take a sheet of paper and write your ideas about it. Gather the papers at the end of the lesson. 
IX. Conclusion: 
a) Giving  home task: to write a mini composition.
b) Giving  marks
